In Raleigh County, our teachers and administrators are committed to developing meaningful services for students with disabilities working “Hand In Hand” with families to seek and identify children and youth, ages three through twenty-one years, who may have developmental delays or exceptionalities. If you have a concern, you can help your child develop to his or her fullest potential by contacting the Office of Special Programs at the Raleigh County Board of Education where we can provide information about Child Find opportunities. Understanding Autism: A Guide for Secondary Schools

    Nick Meader and Students
     Nick Meador
Congratulations to Nick Meador, Teacher at Shady Spring Middle School, and his students for significant academic growth in their math classes this school term.  When asked about the success, Mr. Meador attributed it to loving his job, knowing his students well, and believing in the TransMath curriculum program he used.  He is a veteran teacher of TransMath.  According to Mr. Meador, the understanding he has from experience with the curriculum coupled with knowing the academic needs of his students was the perfect combination for success.
