The Raleigh County Board of Education announced its Teacher of the Year at a virtual ceremony held April 7, 2020.  Each school is asked to submit a nominee(s) for the annual award with the group of nominees narrowed to six finalists.  A selection committee reviews all written submissions and conducts on-site observations of the six finalists.

The 2019-2020 finalists include the following:

  • Amanda Sammons-Meadows, Bradley Elementary School
  • Ann Adkins, Ghent Elementary School
  • Cynthia Kelley, Hollywood Elementary School
  • Josh Reeve, Park Middle School
  • Michelle Clarkson, Woodrow Wilson High School
  • Dr. Jamie Harvey, Office of Special Programs

Mr. Reeve has served the students of Raleigh County Schools for 14.5 years.  He currently serves as a technology education teacher at Park Middle School.  Mr. Reeve will represent Raleigh County Schools in the state-level recognition program.

Raleigh County Schools extends a special thank you to Shady Spring Middle School students for designing the program cover and the Beckley Area Foundation for its continued support of this annual recognition program.
