2018 Raleigh County Service Personnel Employee of the Year
Randall Bonds Named 2018 Raleigh County Service Personnel Employee of the Year
The Raleigh County Board of Education announced its Service Personnel Employee of the Year at a banquet held April 19, 2018 at the Academy of Careers and Technology. Each work location is asked to submit a nominee(s) for the annual award with the group of nominees narrowed to five finalists, one finalist per each of five service personnel classifications. A selection committee reviews all written submissions and conducts on-site observations/interviews of the five finalists. Each of the finalists and the employee of the year received generous gifts from the Ford Family Fund.
The 2017-2018 finalists include the following:
- Debbie Harper: Aide Finalist of the Year
- Susan Parsons: Child Nutrition Finalist of the Year
- Randall Bonds: Custodial/Maintenance Finalist of the Year - WINNER
- Tammi Martin: Office/Clerical Finalist of the Year
- Donald Joe King, Jr.: Transportation Finalist of the Year
In addition to entertainment provided by Park Middle School’s Advanced Chorus under the direction of Wendy Kenney, attendees enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared and served by the students enrolled in the ProStart program at the Academy of Careers and Technology, under the guidance and supervision of Corbin Tonelli. Following the entertainment and dinner, each of the nominees was recognized with Randall Bonds named the Raleigh County Service Personnel Employee of the Year. Mr. Bonds has served the students, staff, and community of Raleigh County Schools for 14 years. He currently serves as a custodian at Ghent Elementary School. Mr. Bonds will represent Raleigh County Schools in the state-level recognition program.
