1. Excused Absences

   • Absences approved by WVBE Attendance Policy 4110.

   • Documentation required within 3 days of the student's return.

   • Failure of Bus to Run

   • Chronic Medical Condition (verified by clinician - School Meeting Required)

   • Illness, Injury, or Appointment (verified by clinician)

   • Illness or injury (verified by parent) - Limit 10 per Year

   • Judicial Obligations

   • Military Obligations

2. Unexcused Absences

   • All other absences no approved by WVBE Attendance Policy 4110

CHRONIC ABSENTEEISM = When a student misses 10% or more of a school year. This includes EXCUSED and UNEXCUSED absences.
