Park Middle School competed in the 2023 WVDOT Bridge Design and Build Contest. In the middle school category Park's teams placed first, third, fourth, 8th, and 9th!
There were 132 teams in all (including high schools). Overall, Park placed third, twelfth, thirteenth, twenty-sixth, and twenty-eighth. These were the placements of our top five teams.

The project, when complete, will include realignment of an intersection and new bridge. West Virginia Division of Highways encourages students interested in bridge design to join for the West Virginia Bridge Design and Build Contest. The contest is open to all middle and high school students across the state, just go to transportation.wv.gov and click on Bridge Design & Build Contest.
Tammy Donahue's students are preparing to enter the WV Bridge Design & Build Contest. Before beginning their projects, a field trip was scheduled on Nov. 4 to a WV Department of Transportation work site on Rural Acres Drive in Beckley to see a new bridge being built.
