Accrued Instructional Time Days (referred to as Accrued Day)

All schools in Raleigh County include an extra 30 minutes of instruction each day.  Therefore, the school system is permitted to use up to FIVE accrued days when schools are closed due to inclement weather.  Accrued days DO NOT have to be made up later in the school year.  Accrued days DO NOT extend the school calendar.

Accrued Days Used This School Year

• Accrued Day #1:                              Friday, December 5, 2025

• Accrued Day #2:                              Monday, December 8, 2025

• Accrued Day #3:                              Thursday, December 11, 2025

Remote Learning Days

Raleigh County Schools can substitute FIVE remote learning days for FIVE scheduled instructional days.  Remote days may ONLY be used on days when schools are closed due to inclement weather.

All staff is required to report to work on a two-hour delay on Remote Learning Days.  Therefore, Remote Learning Days will only be used (1) for closures due to inclement weather AND (2) when it is determined that staff can report.

Remote Learning Days Used This School Year

• Remote Learning Day #1:                          Tuesday, December 9, 2025

• Remote Learning Day #2:                          Friday, December 12, 2025

Outside School Environment Days (OSE)

Six OSE days are included in the school calendar.  Once all Accrued Days have been used and either (1) all Remote Learning Days have been used OR (2) road conditions are such that staff will not report, OSE days will be converted to instructional days.  Students would be expected to attend school on a converted OSE day.
